The 2015 Recognition Breakfast of the Developing Tomorrow's Professionals program will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. As always, this event is a celebration of education, honoring the young men who completed the challenging, ten-week Academic Saturday phase of the DTP program.
On July 20th Commissioner of Education, Stefan Pryor attended the DTP's 9th Academic Saturday at SCSU. Commissioner Pryor addressed the men of the DTP and encouraged them to continue the high levels of work and achievement they have demonstrated during Academic Saturdays.
The young men of the 2015-16 class of the DTP completed the ten-week Academic Saturday phase of the Developing Tomorrow's Professionals program on July 25, 2015. Held at Southern Connecticut State University, this year's young men performed brilliantly and we are assured of their future success in their respective high schools.
In the early spring of 2007, Dr. James Granfield sat is his office at Southern Connecticut State University and listened to the then rather revolutionary concepts of the DTP program. Two of the other state universities had already declined participation and partnership in the DTP program, but Jim, with hesitation and with bolstering suggestions, embraced the DTP.
